Thanet Community Forest School is a newly founded

charity set up in Thanet to provide affordable forest

School programs and experiences to some of Thanet

most deprived individuals.

TCFS was registered as a Charitable Incorporated

Organisation in 2017 and permanently based in Dane

Valley Woods and adjacent allotment.

2017-19 With Thanet's extremely low tree population

density we planted over 200 mature species of trees

on site, engaging with many individuals, groups, schools,

Colleges and other local organisations.

During 2020 -2021 we will be planting 500 new trees

on site though the Isle of Thanet Trees and Woods

Initiative (ITTWI) Community Project.

Current  procedures at TCFS in relation to the outbreak of the

Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Forest school remains open at this stage with increased

levels of hygiene, in particular the washing of hands.

All participants, visitors and staff are to wash their hands

upon arrival, before consuming food or drinks and prior to leaving.

We are also daily cleaning all our surfaces, equipment etc.

We are following the daily updates from a number of government

 Sources

https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response and will implement recommended guidelines if required.

Any changes, for example if we decided to close for a period or

if we become aware of any individuals that have contracted

the virus/displaying symptoms that comprise Forest School

we will immediately make you aware. This information will be

shared on our Facebook, Instagram and Website as well as being

sent by personal emails. We formally request that if anyone becomes

infected or displays the symptoms, to inform us as soon as possible.

The safety and well-being of everyone is always our first priority at TCFS.
